Colorful Oasis
This was such a special & personal project that I worked on for my dear, close friend and talented artist Drica Lobo. Drica is all about “color”; she doesn’t even own a single object or item that isn’t a bright color. Her artwork is inspired by the ocean and nature landscapes of the southbay community. This is a good example of updating a space on a very limited budget.
Process
I wanted to showcase Drica’s bright and cheery lifestyle and her incredible artwork, but I also wanted to do it in a subtle fashion and make her bedroom space feel cozy and inviting. I used bright whites, subtle hues of pink, deep colors of the ocean and natural tones and textiles to accentuate her bright colored artworks. I showcased her art pieces by designing a fun and personal gallery wall.
